Kelingking Beach in Bunga Mekar, Nusa Penida, Klungkung, is the T-Rex-shaped limestone cliff that has become the island's icon. An average visit lasts about 90 minutes for headland photos and partway down the stairs. A per-site DTW retribution under the OGOD scheme applies for adults and children. From Buyuk or Toyapakeh harbour the drive to the southwest takes about 60-75 minutes. General hours are 07:00-18:00; arrive before 08:00 for photos without tour crowds. The final stretch is narrow with alternating one-way traffic, so allow extra time. The DTW retribution of IDR 25,000 per adult and IDR 15,000 per child is paid cashless at the gate; foreign visitors also pay the IDR 25,000 area retribution at the harbour. Bring some cash for parking and drinks. Closed shoes are strongly recommended; the descent is steep. After rain the stairs get slippery - do not push the descent. Skip if you are uncomfortable with heights. A 'closed' sign may appear during big swells or thunderstorms.
